You may be required to attend a Pre-Placement Medical Assessment, which may include audiogram, spirometry and quickscan urine drug screening, at the company’s expense. In order to determine whether you will be able to safely and adequately perform the duties required of the position.

1. This position carries a probationary period of twelve (12) weeks, during which time your performance will be reviewed at 4, 8, and 11 weeks. At the time of each review both employer & employee may discuss any problems encountered.


2. After 3 months continual employment all Steelrod employees are required to wear a supplied uniform.


3. Please be aware that Steelrod Pty Ltd has a 2-week Shutdown over the Christmas/New Year period, and is classed as Annual Leave. Requests for Annual Leave prior to this will be approved or declined on a case-by-case basis to ensure that you have enough Annual Leave left to cover the shutdown. If you do not have sufficient Annual Leave, the Shutdown will be taken as unpaid leave. (Part 6, Section 41.8 of Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2010) or (Part 6, Section 30.5 of Clerks – Private Sector Award 2010).


4. If you abandon your employment, or if you do not work the statutory notice period, Steelrod Pty Ltd will withhold monies to the value of the notice period. (Part 3, Section 21 of Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2010) or (Part 7, Section 71A Para 4 of Industrial Relations Act 1999).
